SeatBuzzer is made in Manchester. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Your email address -- to sign you in with a one-time link, and to send you BUZZ notifications and account messages.
  • A display name, if you set one.
  • Your Buzzers -- the events, dates, ticket quantity, price and type preferences you ask us to watch for.
  • Push subscription details, only if you turn on push notifications for a Buzzer -- this is a token your browser gives us, not readable content.
  • Basic operational records -- when a Buzzer matched, when we emailed or pushed you, and similar service history, so we can show you your own Buzzer activity and investigate a report that something went wrong.

We don't ask for or store a password -- sign-in is a one-time link, and we only ever keep a hash of it, never the link itself. We don't collect payment details for the current free beta.

Why we collect it

To run your account, watch for tickets on your behalf, send you the sign-in links and BUZZ notifications you ask for, and to keep the service honest -- for example, being able to show exactly what a BUZZ said at the time it was sent. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Cookies and sessions

SeatBuzzer uses one strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. It's an opaque identifier, not your email or user ID. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run SeatBuzzer, each only for the job they do:

  • Cloudflare hosts SeatBuzzer and its database.
  • Resend delivers our sign-in and BUZZ emails on our behalf.
  • If you turn on push notifications, your browser's own push service (for example Chrome or Firefox's) delivers them -- we never see the notification content, only whether delivery succeeded.

When a Buzzer matches, we link you to the official ticket seller's page -- once you click through, you're on their site under their own privacy practices, which we don't control. If we ever introduce paid plans, payments would be handled by a payment processor (such as Stripe) who would see your payment details directly -- we wouldn't store your card details ourselves.

We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't share it with ticket sellers or anyone else beyond what's needed to run the service above.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we de-identify it straight away; some de-identified historical and operational records (for example, that a match happened, without it being traceable back to you) may be retained so service history stays honest for anyone else involved, like another user who received the same BUZZ.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or ask what we hold. You can delete your own account and data at any time from Account settings. For anything else, email hello@seatbuzzer.com and we'll help.
